I heard the voices sob.

I heard
the voices sob
through a dark

a sordid
musty fog
clung to my cells

the grip festered
an exchange;
an uneasy heaviness

I scrapped the
the barnacles
into a blue dish

and lit a candle
to dance with
ancient shadows

I honored
the day distilled
by an overlay
of bottomless grief

and lowered my
sails to
drift in the
voyage of
my soul’s soul.
