A new liberation. {poetry}

Thoughts get lost
and words get rearranged
a purplish child’s lamp lights the room

Pronouns of ‘his’ and ‘hers’
divides the space of what wasn’t,
it’s a deafening silence
searching for a new sound

It’s the slow blink and sway of a distant fan
and the thick heat of day, finally lifting,
the sky, in layers of opal grey,
welcomes the charcoal of night

Where a heart can sketch a mural
and words can tumble,
syllable by syllable
into a space of nothingness

Captive by no one,
I dwell
in an ethereal quotation
of a new liberation.
