When you dream. {Poetry}

Gabriel Moreno

Artist: Gabriel Moreno

When you dream,
the mountains become your feet
and songbirds crisscross your hair,
wind becomes the color of souls

when you dream,
chaos becomes a melody
sunrise is clear as midnight
and stardust is the essence of overflow

when you dream,
nightmares reveal shadows of
yesteryears
a bridge built
of step stones of todays and tomorrows.

when you dream,
a table is set and ‘we the people’
stream to the left and right of always
everyone is served and heard (my heart rejoices!!)

When you dream,
we gather
and reap the fruits of hardships
joys and fears comingle
and we learn

When you dream,
we walk, swim and soar together,
touching the core complexes
of our souls

I believe our dreams of night
awake our dreams of day
and we turn so many pages
it’s hard to see just how
much we’ve grown.
